Can you recommend any really good restaurants that are not on the main streets. Looking for a real french style restaurant with loads of atmosphere, great food and not full of tourists!! although I will be one!!!!

Some wonderful food can be found at Auberge Pyrenées-Cevennes in the 11th. I can%26#39;t say that another tourist has never eaten there because I have. But being in the 11th, tourists are rare. They all seem to stay in the lower arrondissements. This place is run by a husband and wife who are welcoming and know how to cook. Their cassoulet is outstanding. The serving would easily feed two or three people.

We absolutely love a restaurant in the 12th arr. near the Bercy Village:
L%26#39;Auberge Aveyronnaise
40 rue Gabriel Lamé in the 12th
Métro: Cour St-Émilion - Line 14, direction %26quot;Olympiades%26quot;

It%26#39;s traditional French %26quot;Aveyronnaise%26quot;, cuisine of the department of Aveyron, our absolute favorite French food. The food is always great (and we%26#39;ve eaten there dozens of times) and their meat dishes are the best, particularly when served with their excellent %26quot;Aligot%26quot;, one of their specialities.
Prices are modest, no tourists in our experience, and minutes away from central Paris on the métro line-14 %26quot;météore%26quot; (8min ride on métro from Chatelet + 5min walk to the resto)..

Try Au Fils de Saison, 6 rue Fontaines du Temple in the Upper Marais. On a tiny little street, no sign except for the blackboard menu in the window, sits about 18-20 people. Great home made foie gras, melt in your mouth duck, and wonderful home made desserts.

(BTW, I hope no one minds me referring to my blog for details, I am just too lazy to go into that much detail again! LOL)
