I am planning to fly into Biarritz for a week in August, I would like to visit San Sebastian and St Jean du Luz, would anyone have a suggestion of where would be a good base and suggestions of other places to visit, we are a young couple and will hire a car, thanks

We visited St Jean du Luz on a day trip this June. Lovely seaside town. Our actual base was in St Jean Pied de Port, this town is inland and in the foothills of the Pyrenees. We rented an apartment through Pierre %26amp; Vacaneces called Parc d%26#39;Arradoy. We were very pleased with this choice, we travel by motorbike and during the day we tour around, some great places to see in this area.There was plenty of safe parking on site. The apartments were of a good quality, very well equipped.It was only a five minute walk into the town, we stayed for a week and did not eat in the same place twice.

In my opinion a good base would be Biarritz, it´s the nicest of all places around, and you can take a car and go to Saint Jean de Luz in 10 minutes.
