Marriott Champs Elysees

A couple questions:

1. Can you walk from Gare St. Lazare to Marriott Champs Elysees? How far is it in miles?

2. Is the buffet breakfast included?

3. Is there a charge for internet?

Thanks so much

I would guess that it%26#39;s about 1 1/2 to 2 miles from Gare St. Lazare to the Marriott on the CE. Whether you can walk it depends on the circumstances. If you%26#39;re talking about wheeling your luggage to the hotel, I%26#39;d say no. If you%26#39;re talking about a leisurely stroll one day when you%26#39;re out and about, then yes. Take a cab if you have your luggage.

You can take bus 32 there. Get off on the corner of rue La Boëtie and the Champs Elysées.

Most 4-star hotels charge through the nose for internet while 1-star hotels offer it free.

At my office, I pick up the wifi access from the 5-star hotel across the street and I saw they are charging 12€ for an hour! (In a cybercafé in my neighborhood, the internet costs between 1€ and 1.50€ an hour.)

1. You can get walking directions and times from www.viamichelin.com

2,3. Really, you need to ask the hotel: these things can change at short notice.

I also noticed this posted on their site:

* *Renovation Information

The hotel s historic facade will be restored to its original state from September 14, 2009 to November 30 2009. Our 15 Champs Elysees view rooms will be closed during this period.

In France, hotels typically do not include breakfast, so you can choose to have it there or go out. Although their website coyly does not mention this either way, a quick scan of the TA reviews reveals:

Petit Dejeuner is approx. 30 Euros .... Rack rates start at an eye-watering 779 euros a night, for which you don%26#39;t even get breakfast including (another 29 euros per person).... Because we are gold level members, our breakfast was complimentary. At 29 euros it is very expensive and we would not have eaten there if we had to pay for it ....

Also, from two 2007 reviews: Internet access is 15 Euros per day ... breakfast is 29 Euro on top and Internet for a day 15 Euro.
