Booking Chateau Eza for lunch and was wondering what the dress code is? Must men wear trousers? Are 3/4 trousers completely unacceptable? Feel sorry for my boyfriend that on a hot day (hopefully) he will have to wear full length trousers!

We have consistently had the worst service at Chateau Eza that I have ever experienced at any of the more than 500 hotels where I have stayed. Tempted back from time to time over the years by the wonderful location, we keep thinking that things must improve. They don%26#39;t! Recently we attempted to get afternoon tea on the terrace. There were six customers but after a twenty minute wait no member of staff had as much as said bonjour. Unusually for us, we were travelling by car so were able to nip down to the Grand Hotel du Cap Ferrat where, as you might hope for the prices they charge, we were treated like royalty.
To answer your question, inside the restaurant I would advise full length trousers but on the terrace people wear pretty much anything. Hope you are luckier than us. Chevre D%26#39;Or is more expensive but much, much better.

I am with Londobob here - great view lousy service - lunch on the terrace and a nice pair of shorts should be ok...

Hmm, im a bit put off by the reports of the terrible service. Are there any other places close to Nice that have great views, great food and great service? Think chevre d%26#39;or is just slightly out of my price range!
