Nuit Blanche (All-Nighter)

We will be arriving into Paris from Stockholm at 5:30 PM on the 3rd of October and it sounds like we will be arriving just in time to enjoy Nuit Blanche. (Although I must admit it has been some time since I%26#39;ve done an %26quot;All Nighter!%26quot;

This was taken from the Paris tourism website.

%26quot;Saturday 3rd October 2009 sees the return of Nuit Blanche, a celebration of contemporary art from 7 p.m. until dawn. This year, the event is set to focus on three of Paris’ districts: the Buttes-Chaumont, situated to the north-east, the centre of Paris (Marais, Châtelet, etc.) and the quartier latin on the left bank.%26quot;

We will be staying near the Arc (Regence Etoile Hotel) and was hopeful that someone would recommend what area we should target to experience this festival.

This will be our first trip to Paris and will have NO experience in getting around Paris so that would be a concern regarding what area should we venture to for this event and be able to easily return to our hotel. Will the public transportation options be available all night as well?)

Thanks!

Last year most of the transport options were the bus. The noctillen was running but was so unbelieveably crowded. Music and dancing with a lot of drinking mixed in. Some excellent light and sound shows as well.

Your %26quot;closest%26quot; venue will be Chatelet area.

Some of the metro lines will operate all night, although they will skip the small stations.

Personally, I used a Vélib to go from place to place last year, and it worked very well.
