Are there any boat trips from Nice habour that we could do on one of our days in Nice?, we have been before and done Monte Carlo by train and Cannes, and just wondering how to fill one of the days we are there. Is it easy to get to Menton or Eze and if which is the best.

You could do the boat day excursion to St Tropez. You can%26#39;t easily do that in any other way so its a bit of a one off. Check if its running on the days you are here.

its very eeeezy to get to Eze - 82 or 112 bus from Nice Gare Routiere.
Menton is an hour and a quarter for 1 euro on the 100 bus, or around 12 euro return on the train. The bus is quite enjoyable in it follows the coastal route with interesting views. You could take the bus there and the train back, best of both worlds.
If you want to do something completely different, go to the Chemin de Fer de Provence just north of the train station and catch the narrow guage train 50 miles inland to the medieval village of Entrevaux and back.Early start recommended.
There is no shortage of things to do based in Nice, it just depends on what interests you and how much effort you want to make. There are people who just sit on the stony beach for a week.

We have %26#39;killed%26#39; a day doing Eze, Menton and Chemin de Fer de Provence. I would say that we enjoyed Menton best for doing nothing other than sitting on the bus, strolling around menton, eating a lovely lunch close to the beach and then taking the bus home, transport total cost 2 euro p.p.
If you decide on Entrevaux we had a good lunch in the bar opposite the old town entrance (the only hotel was closed for eating from 2.00pm) The train stn can be difficult to find - we walked straight up gambetta to rue clement roassal (sign post here) then rue alfred binet, then 30mtr on left. Go early to get a seat on this small train - views are brilliant.
If you decide on Eze then a must - if you are fit - is to walk down the stony path to Eze sur mer. From there you can get the 100 back to Nice.
