Hello,
Can anyone recommend a good (and affordable) Moroccan restaurant in Paris. Part of my family is French and they mentioned to me that I should try one while in Paris.. but they can%26#39;t remember any names.
Thanks!

Two we have enjoyed are: Oum el Banine in the 16th at 16 bis, rue Dufrenoy - a bit out of the way, but a great choice for lunch after a morning visit to the Musee Marmottan. Super-central, is the cute little Le Maroc in the 1st, at 9 rue Danielle-Casanova. You can also find wonderful Moroccan pastries in many bakeries.

There are quite few of them in the Latin quarter and they are more affordable. BTW Tunisian, Algerian and Moroccan restaurants serve almost the same type of food and they are in the same area.

In the 6th, Le Mechoui du Prince, 34 rue Monsieur le Prince, 75006. Metro Odeon Ligne 4.
Great veggie, etc., tajines.

The Latin Quarter is full of decent Maghrebi restaurants, and just about all of them are cheap.
I recommended getting a couscous royal, or if you are slightly less hungry, go with the couscous poulet.

My one expirience with a Moroccan restaurant makes me suggest not to order too many platters all at once. Order one thing and if necessary, then order a second thing. The one vegetable tajine we ordered was enough for four people - rice, stew and veggies - and we were served a small plate of olives, etc when we sat down.
But we asked for a wine suggestion from the waiter and he suggested a very good, Algerian white wine.

The best Algerian wines are the hearty reds like Sidi Brahim.
The best Moroccan wines are the delicate %26#39;gris%26#39; (pale rosé) like Boulaouane.

I highly recommend:
L%26#39;Atlas
12, Boulevard St Germain
75005 Paris, France
+33 1 44 07 23 66
Beautiful restaurant, excellant Moroccan food (tagines, couscous, etc.)

I haven%26#39;t been myself, but the apartment I stayed in last year had many recommendations for La Fantasia on rue Dauphine (rue de Buci end) in the 6th.

You all have been of GREAT help!
Many, MANY thanks!
