Driving to the languedoc area from calais

Hello Everyone-I was hoping someone would be able to help. My husband and I were thinking of driving to Languedoc from Calais. Our ferry gets into Calais at about 5pm on Saturday and we were hoping to spend that night somewhere along the way. Does anybody know of any nice (inexpensive) hotels and routes they would recommend?

Thanks!

If you want speed I%26#39;d take St Quentin - Dijon - Lyon - Avignon - Montpellier (allow around 9 hrs with few stops). It always works out faster than the A75 route which is normally an hour or two longer.

I%26#39;d aim to stop within 2 hours so that you can check in and organise dinner.

Hi Ya,

Last year we stopped in Macon just above Lyon, Lovely little town with a river running through, there were hundreds of hotels you shouldn%26#39;t have a problem finding one and they are signposted everywhere, and it%26#39;s not far off the the motorway.. hope you have a good holiday..
