does anyone have a recommendation for a nice little hotel in or near Amiens? I don%26#39;t want to spend more than 60euro a night for a double room though...

Stay at %26quot;Le Thil%26quot; ( listed here on Tripadvisor) fab place just outside Amiens with lovely hosts. Costs about 65 euro a nite inc b/fast. But you would need to taxi it into Amiens or take the car - it%26#39;s a short 5-10min journey at most....

Hotel Victor Hugo, 2 rue de l%26#39;Oratoire - F - 80000 AMIENS, hotelvictorhugo@wanadoo.fr, is about 45/50 euros. No luxury, but central and quiet spot.
The Mercure Cathédrale, a member of the Mercure chain, is a lot more comfy. The full price is about 100 euros in such places, but booking ahead on internet (http://www.mercure.com) in a quiet period, you may get discounts up to 40%. Worth checking!
There are a couple of other options should you prefer a romantic spot in the countryside, then of course you need a car and a good map! If so, just ask.
Enjoy your stay,
Didier

Bonjour,
I am traveling to Amiens this December 6. Do you recommend booking the hotel prior to arriving since it is the Christmas market season?
Kind regards,

Are any of these hotels close to the train station as we will be arriving from Brugges by train.

the train station is in the centre of Amiens and you could walk to all the town centre hotels. the carlton hotel is opposite the train station. there is also a free bus that runs in a figure 8 around amiens that goes past the train station.
