Living in Montpellier

Hi,

I%26#39;m an italian student leaving for an erasmus of 6 months in Montpellier. I%26#39;ll be attending lessons both at the first and third university of Montpellier. Where would you advise me to live? Flat or student residence? Which zone? Room or studio?

I%26#39;d like to combine many features (some conflicting :-D):

- to live with other people (erasmus and french, student or not, but I%26#39;d say I would prefer my same age)

- to have my own privacy and private places (I%26#39;d love a private toilet)

- to spend not too much nor too little

- to be next to the universities, but more importantly to the center (if it%26#39;s in the center that people have fun in Montpellier... where is it after all that students can find a pub there? I don%26#39;t know!)

What do you suggest me?

I mainly look for advices about the zone (which is cheap and connected, which is lively, which is out of the world, which is not affordable)!

Thank you à tout le monde (I%26#39;ll take lessons to improve my french, I promise)

You might want to post the same questions here:

completefrance.com/cs/…ShowForum.aspx

You will have to sign-up to post, but it is free and there are lots of people who live in the Languedoc who post on the forum.

I am just a tad too far East of Montpellier to offer expert advice.

This would be a second forum option:

totalfrance.com/france/forum/viewforum.php…

Also has many folks who live in the area who post.

I%26#39;d add that you need very local knowledge !

The universities have good contacts, but you need to move quickly to secure the better places.
