Don%26#39;t expect to see much of interest from the train in 1h20. You%26#39;ll see lots of empty beet fields at that time of year as well as some winter wheat.
The TGV tracks avoid most of the towns.
It is nevertheless a very pleasant ride.

pleasant and completely uneventful. I%26#39;d hit the bar car. :)

There is the occasional small WW1 military cemetary alongside the track, but that%26#39;s about it

If it%26#39;s early morning or from late evening onwards you%26#39;ll just see your own reflection from the window as it%26#39;ll be dark outside and if its a dull grey December day then that might be all you%26#39;ll see at anytime.
The Thalys trains are comfortable and fast, just bring a book, listen to music or as previously said, hit the bar.
The only thing I%26#39;ve found of interest is the first bit as one leaves Paris and the last bit as one arrives in Brussels. It%26#39;s only then that the train moves slow enough to see anything that isn%26#39;t a blur.

You can expect to see the pages of a very interesting book.
