Please help tweak my Plans

We have an apartment in Paris for 15days in Mid-September. While there we have decided to take the TGV to Nice.

-We got a very nice inexpensive one way PREM fare (thanks to the suggestions and tips here on the TA Paris Forum).

-And we have booked a Sea View room with Balcony at the Hotel Suisse (thanks to suggestions and reviews here on the TA Paris and Nice Forums).

-We will travel light as we only plan to be gone two nights from Paris.

-We have paid for the apartment in Paris for 15days, so don%26#39;t want to be gone more that two nights/three days but see as much as possible and then decide for later trips which cities to return to for a longer stay

Here is my general plan for those three days/two nights. Looking for advice, suggestions and refinement!

Monday:

-Arrive Nice approx at 115pm, take the tram to Place Massena (maybe find a place for a light lunch there?) and then walk to the Hotel Suisse.

-Afternoon and early evening sightseeing around Nice and then a nice dinner.

-Open to suggestions for lunch, dinner and sights to see.

Tuesday:

-A mini bus tour departs at 9AM and is 9 hours long, covering Antibes, Fragonard, Cannes, Monte Carlo/Monaco, St Paul Vence %26amp; Eze for only USD120.00. I originally thought to rent a car, but then the driver will miss a lot, while navigating in unfamiliar traffic and roads.

-Nice dinner in Nice.

-Open to suggestions for breakfast and dinner, and if my thinking is right about renting a car.

Wednesday:

-Mid-Morning train to Aix-en-Provence TGV station, bus into central Aix arriving around PAM.

-Lunch and sightseeing.

-TGV back to Paris around Pam getting us back to Paris around LAP while the Metro is still running to get us back to our apartment.

-Open to suggestions of what to do and see in Aix, or if this day stop should be Avignon or another city with TGV service.

Thanks in advance. I will post this in both the Paris and Nice forums.

Has anyone had experience with city-discovery.com? They offer the Riviera Panorama tour that I%26#39;m interested in. Thanks again!

Hi Dansk22, Just got back from Nice last week. My husband and another couple spent 3 days there before venturing on to Italy. After doing lots of research we decided not to rent a car while in Nice. We were advised that traffic was too heavy and parking hard to come by on the coast. We could clearly see that was the case when we spend some time there. The bus system in Nice and along the coast is good and in- expensive. In Nice,we spent a whole day just exploring the old town, the market area and the Castle Hill. The next day we took a bus to St. Paul de Vence which I highly recommend seeing. Exploring, shopping and lunch took up most of that day. The 3rd day was spent taking the bus to Monaco/Montecarlo.We visited the aguarium along with the unsual sites. We definitely could of pushed harder to see more but with the crowds and heat we prefered a more leasurely pace. For us, your 9 hour tour would have been overwhelming.

For dinner we ate in the market place that becomes one large dinning room at night - quite a sight- all of the restuarants set up outdoor tables. The food in Nice was consistantly good. We enjoyed Chez Freddy the most. The resturants on the west side of Giofreddo were also very good. Make reservations if there is somewhere you really want to eat.

Thank you so much Cellii for your reply. I%26#39;m hoping the crowds and heat will be gone by late September!
