Best Pizza in Nice?

Where can I get some of the best pizza in Nice??

Ignore the touristy location but I have still yet to beat La Taverne Massena on the Zone Pietonne.

Picture is here (the place not the pizza. They look all the same but taste different)

It has the edge - and lashings of hot chilli oil to suit.

Oh sounds good! I will definitely try it. For cheap lunches are there stalls that sell pizza slices and stuff like that?

Just totalling up how much spending money im gonna need and its not pretty!

You will probably find that eating French food in France is cheaper than eating New York Italian.

We thought the best pizza in Nice (and its sister restaurant in Cannes) was at La Pizza, on the rue Masséna--about 2 blocks west of the Place Masséna. The portions are huge (one order is enough for 2 unless starving!), and the pizza marguerite is made with cantal cheese and absolutely fabulous. There are lots of other dishes on the menu as well.

We didn%26#39;t try the pizza at O%26#39;Palermo, across from La Pizza, but the mussels and pasta there were exellent and moderately priced.

This is making me crave pizza! We%26#39;re off to see %26quot;Julia and Julie,%26quot; and friends have advised us not go go hungry.

Pizza in Nice is absolutely not New york Italian -its very thin crust and cooked in a wood fired oven = as is the socca [chickpea pancakes]

Nicois cooking is a combination of French and italian due to its mixed heritage as a border town

Forgot to say that Pizza Max on boulevard joseph Garnier is probably the best take away pizza - despite being cooked in a place the size of a very small broom cupboard

Cannot vouch for %26quot;the best%26quot; but the pizzas at La Tapenade on rue Sainte-Réparate are excellent. The restaurant also serves excellent versions of traditional Niçoise specialities at very reasonable prices.

Bon appétit!

I would have to go for Cresci%26#39;s on Rue de France, the portion is amazing and try a bottle of house rose too, oh and don%26#39;t forget to have a fried egg on top (on top of the pizza that is)

What food is most typical of Nice. We will be there Sept. 3 for 5 days, and I wanted to enjoy local food as much as possible. We will be going to Italy so I can eat lots of pizza and gelato. I%26#39;m looking forward to the socca. I am a just retired foods teacher and this is my passion. One thing, I don%26#39;t eat mussels.

Typical Niçoise cuisine - socca and the salade Niçoise of course. Also beignets of vegetables, stuffed sardines, daube of beef etc.

I suggest going to René Socca on rue Miralheti for delicious fast food Niçoise style.

Other recommended places to enjoy great value local cuisine are Restaurant Voyageur Nissart on rue d%26#39;Alsace-Lorraine, Acchiardo on rue Droite and L%26#39;Escalinda on rue Pairolière.

Bon appétit!
