From Saint-Tropez to Nice

Hello

Does anyone know what%26#39;s the best way (time %26amp; money) to go from Saint-tropez to Nice in order to catch a flight at 18:55? How long will it take?

I won%26#39;t have a car, so public transportation would be the ideal mean.

Many thanks

The best balance between time and money is the Bateaux St Raphael ferry to, wait for it, St Raphael, and then a train to Nice. From there you will need to get back to the airport unless your train happens to stop at Nice St Augustin (which is just off airport) There is an express coach from the train station to the airport. The basic journey time is around four hours plus, depending on wait between connections, but leave plenty of slack.

I did a return trip to Saint-Tropez from Nice by public transport two years ago. It was quite a trip.

Back to Nice, I took the boat to St. Maxime. Then the bus (Sodetrav) to St. Raphael. Then the train to Nice main railway station (not airport).

It took me 3 hours and 20 minutes (the bus to St. Raphael actually leaves from St. Tropez, but I like the boat trip very much).

But: those buses and trains do not run regularly, like every half hour or not even every hour.

So forget about just showing up at a bus stop or railway station to catch a train.

And indeed, you do need to plan a lot of margin to make up for delays. If not, you could find your self waiting an hour and a half or two hours for the next bus or train.

So: it is possible, but you have to do a lot of research and planning before you go ! And plan a lot of margin !!!
