Hotel Costes

I am taking my wife for the first time to Paris next week for a few nights as we are on a break from Dubai. We have been recommended Hotel Costes as a good funky, trendy hotel. Can you recommend this Hotel or are there any other more boutique hotels that are close to all the interesting areas (shopping, restaurants etc).

Thanks a very confused man!!

Well, I%26#39;ve never stayed at the Costes and it is way beyond my budget, but I have stayed at a small hotel (which is part of how I interpret %26quot;boutique%26quot;) run by the Costes family/chain. It is the Hotel Bourg-Tibourg on rue Bourg Tibourg in the 4th arr Marais.

It is definitely %26quot;funky%26quot; and the street and surrounding area are beautiful and in the midst of shopping, restaurants, and bars.

The Costes is very upscale and well-known and the bar there is really fashionable. It%26#39;s very highly rated here on TA--you can read the reviews.

But the 2 hotels and areas are quite different, so it depends on what you like.

Costes is fine, but a bit yesteryear if you ask me. One of this summer%26#39;s #1 singles in France %26quot;ça m%26#39;énerve%26quot; (it gets on my nerves) starts by making fun of their bar as being a phony bourgeois trendy place.

If you want to go trendy all the way, you can try One By The Five, a one room hotel

or the Kube Hotel, with not-so-great-reviews though
