We are arriving in Paris at 11.30 on a Friday night and were wondering if anyone knows a good bar (as opposed to club) that would be open. Ideally we would want to drop our bags (staying on Rue Geoffroy Marie) first so it would be around midnight. Any advise greatfully received

As Kerouac rightly pointed out, Paris hotels are real liers, since rue Geoffroy Marie is not Opéra at all, it is Faubourg Montmartre (3 métro stations apart). Anyway, just stroll down the grands boulevards (around the eponymous métro station), and you%26#39;ll see plenty of bars open, alive and kicking, especially on a Friday night. Just take your pick. It%26#39;s not very upscale, think London%26#39;s West End, but it%26#39;s fun and close by.

That%26#39;s even the area where the Hard Rock Café is, so you can imagine... urp.
