Is there summer time University Accommodation in Calais?

Does anyone know or have experience if there is a University or College summertime %26quot;students away on vacation %26quot;scheme that is open to tourists in CALAIS as is common in many such towns?

(or possibly LILLE?)

The University or College opens up certain Student Residence individual bedrooms to all comers with shared cooking and shower self catering at very reasonable rates.

We have in the past been put up at such a place in Ghent,Bournemouth,London(Imperial College) and Paris(Cite International)with very pleasing results.

It was not entirely necessary to be a student.

It was around July and August until term time start in October and very often we found ourselves pretty much the only occupants of a whole block!

Being as Calais does not appear to have a University or College, I doubt it.

You could try Calais in Maine US though, they seem to have a Uni and lots of accommodation!!!!!!

Calais may not have a major University Hub but French Higher Education often has branches and annexes dotted about a major city like Lille in the most unlikely places.

I would like to stay at an American Campus but am afraid flight costs are prohibitive at this time,

If you already know all that, then you might be lucky with Calais if you do your own webresearch, eh??

PS, perhaps you could stay in the car park of one of the calais Hypermarkets, that should suit you, or perhaps near a bicycle shop!!!
