Getting from CDG to hotel? :)

Could anyone suggest the best way to get from CDG to Ideal Hotel Design, 108 Boulevard Jourdan, 75014? From what I can work out the Airfrance bus, route 4 to Gare Montparnasse then possibly a taxi or metro? Im just not sure if it%26#39;s worth doin it that way or just getting a taxi from CDG as it%26#39;s my first time in France and i feel a bit apprehensive about getting on public transport straight away. :( Im travelling with my husband and we arrive on Saturday at 2.30pm (if that helps any)lol.

Thanks for any help

If your budget requires you to watch every centime you%26#39;re spending, use the public transportaion option. If you can afford the addition 25 or so Euros it will cost you, I would take the taxi in a heartbeat.

Prices changed in July. If you are watching your money, I suggest you use the Air France bus at a cost of about 14 euro one way, unless they changed the price. The cabs follow the Air France buses like bees to honey. Make sure you get taxi Parisien and nothing else. A taxi alone would run about 50 euro depending on time of day, traffic, the driver etc. The bus is easy. There is a ticket building about by door one of CDG and there is a sign there showing where the route of each bus goes. They load the luggage in the %26quot;hold%26quot;. Just tell the loader which stop you want and it goes into that particular hold. Sometimes the bldg is closed and you pay the driver. Have the address of the hotel written down on a piece of paper and if possible a map of where it is and give it to the driver. Some speak English, some speak so and so, and some speak something else. You never know.

AF coaches now cost closer to 16-17€ one way. The drop-off at Montparnasse/ le Meridien hotel is near a taxi stand. The taxi on to the hotel should cost around 10€ roughly. There is a per-bag charge so don%26#39;t think that is a scam.

Personally, I don%26#39;t think the metro from that drop-off is real convenient since you%26#39;d have to go down and buy tickets and the nearest stop to Line 4 is Gare Montparnasse station... Gaite is the nearest stop, but it isn%26#39;t a convenient transfer to Line 4, which is the line whose ending stop is at your hotel door (Porte d%26#39;Orleans).

I don%26#39;t know the exact location, but it sounds like your hotel might be reasonnably close to the Cité universitaire RER B stop, that is direct from the CDG airport.

From the airport, all RER B stop in Paris anyway, all would stop at Cité univsersitaire so nothing to be aprehensive

Raphy... are there escalators or elevators at RER B stop St. Michel? And how much does it cost to take the RER from the airport? We have always taken a taxi, but after the last time in traffic, I think I would like to try and take the train. We aren%26#39;t bringing much luggage this next trip, so this should be workable.

Thanks so much!

RER B from CDG to Paris is 8.20 one way. You could go all the way to Citi Universitaire and then hike up the street to the hotel.

Or change at Gare du Nord to Line 4 and go to Porte d%26#39;Orleans which is literally right in front of your hotel.

Hylasgirl isn%26#39;t the OP.

Hylasgirl, try typing %26quot;RER st michel%26quot; in the forum search b/c there has been some recent discussion about this stop...

|||

travelnutty... thank you so much. I found just the one.

|||

If it%26#39;s not too late for my two centime...

Take the RER-B to station %26quot;Cité Universitaire%26quot; and exit the station near the front of the train. There is an escalator to street level, no stairs. When you reach street level, directly in front of you will be a %26quot;T2%26quot; tram stop. Take the tram in the direction %26quot;Pont de Garigliano%26quot; and get off at the %26quot;Porte d%26#39;Orleans%26quot; stop. The hotel will be right there.

OOPS, that%26#39;s the %26quot;T3%26quot; tram.
