Transfers from the airport

Hi. Can anyone tell me if they have ever used Paris Transfer, the shared transfer service and if so what they were like? It seems a taxi could really clock up the euro%26#39;s if we got there at the wrong time and this transfer service seems quite reasonable. Thanks everyone.

What airport?

At what time of day, day of the week?

It is possible that taxi costs could exceed estimates. It also possible that a van service may not show up at all leaving you waiting and wondering.

It%26#39;s best to be prepared with options, these are from CDG (ORY will be less):

__________

1. Taxi - Depending upon number in your party, it may be the cheapest option. (information provided is for the outbound leg)

a. http://www.taxisg7.com/

b. Call yourself the day before pickup, hotels will call for you but you may pay extra for this service.

c. English speaking operator 01 41 27 66 99

d. Cost estimate: 50€+

e. Travel time about 1 hour

__________

2. Train – RER B

a. Adults 8.50€

b. Children 5.90€

c. Frequency – every 10-15 minutes

d. About 28 minutes travel time to Châtelet

__________

3. Bus

a. Roissybus – CDG to Opéra

i. 8.90€

ii. 45 to 60 minute travel time

iii. Frequency – every 15 minutes from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. and every 20 minutes from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

b. Air France Bus – CDG:

Hi. Thanks for the information. We will arrive at CDG at around 8pm on 20th August and we are staying at the Villa Madame hotel in St Germaine. I did wonder about the shuttle service as we booked something similar in New York and that didn%26#39;t turn up causing us to miss our return flight home! May be a taxi will be a better option for us. Thank you again.

|||

I used Shuttle-Inter in June for round-trip transportation from airport. Great experience. Did not have to pay in advance, so if they didn%26#39;t show up I would have just used a taxi. On time coming and going.

The Shuttle-Inter shows a rate of 55 euros for 1 - 3 people. Is that pp or total? It%26#39;s not clear.

Thanks

We have taken the RER with no trouble to St.Germaine.

It is a whole lot cheaper than a taxi for 2 (18E as opposed to 50E).

|||

if you have a lot of bags (ie. more than 1 roller and carryon), you should opt either for a taxi or one of the express buses and then a taxi.

|||

I recently booked a private sedan from Elyseecars.

Roundtrip from ORLY to the Latin quarter is 90 Euro. They will be waiting at the airport when we arrive and at our hotel for the return trip.

Same as a previous poster, we pay when they pick us up so worst case scenario, we grab a taxi if they don%26#39;t show.

I%26#39;ve had a few questions during the booking process and so far their customer service has been excellent and always respond via email withing 24 hours.

Haven%26#39;t actually been picked up yet, but so far I highly recommend.

If you have bags which preclude you from using the RER or Roissybus, you may want to consider Air France coach, then taxi to your hotel, if you want to economize.

As for shuttle services, NONE of them are totally reliable. And, the disadvantage of %26quot;shared%26quot; service is picking up others at the airport then delivering all to their destinations.

If %26quot;we%26quot; is two or more people, shuttle services won%26#39;t save you much, and could be more costly, versus a taxi.

Traffic is lighter evenings, so even though the meter is running, fare could be as, or much more, favorable than a shared shuttle service.

90 euros roundtrip is pretty good, especially if they are waiting for you out of customs and will pick you up at your lodging with no additional fee. I%26#39;m curious to hear how it goes.
