2 days in Paris. What to do..

Hi,

My husband and I are travelling to Paris in 2 weeks time. We have just come back from London and I found we missed out on a lot of museums etc. because of open top buses being stuck in traffic and queues in the various places.

We are staying in the 16th arrondissment and I would appreciate it if I could get some information on places to go and places to eat. Not too expensive. I want to go to The Louvre, Notre Dame and obviously Eiffel Tower. Is there a charge for any of these? I was very disappointed at the high charges to tour St. Paul%26#39;s Cathedral in London.

No charge to enter Notre Dame.

Definitely entrance fees for the Louvre and various levels of the Eiffel.

I thought there was a charge for going up in the Tower at Notre Dame?

Question: Is it worth it?

Yes, there is a charge to go up the tower unless you have a museum pass. Even then the lines are long. We did not get to go up because there was a staff meeting that morning, so I don%26#39;t know if it is worth the long wait.

We did go up the Arc d%26#39;Triomphe - no wait at all and a great view.

You might look into a 2-day Museum Pass. It covers a large number of museums and sights such as the Notre Dame Tower and Arc d%26#39;Triomphe. It does not cover the Eiffel Tower, but does include most other places. The Museum Pass eliminates queues at most places except Notre Dame Tower.

We walked and used a carnet of metro tickets. I thought the Hop On...buses sounded really expensive unless walking was not something you could or wanted to do.

Thanks for the reply. Had kids with us in London so couldn%26#39;t walk or queue for too long.We are on our own this time so provided its not too hot there we will walk most of the time.
