Matthews Holidays

Has anyone travelled to France with Matthews Holidyas? If so, I would be realy interested in hearing about your experiences.

We went with them in 2007 - didn%26#39;t have a great time I%26#39;m afraid! Couldn%26#39;t fault Matthews Holidays in terms of their customer service and booking, but it all went wrong when we arrived. The Rep was a single man in his late twenties, who seemed to spend all his time boozing and sleeping! Indeed, when we arrived at the campsite - at the time he was told to expect us - he couldn%26#39;t be found anywhere until the Keycamp rep hammered on his door and found him asleep on his bed! He was no help to us during our holiday but the mobile home was clean when we arrived which we had been a bit nervous about.

Considering we had paid a bit more for a higher rated campsite we felt a bit cheated. The weather was terrible which didn%26#39;t help but most restaurants and shops in the area were closed up - during the last week of June! - and the water slides weren%26#39;t turned on until late afternoon, and there were no kids activities laid on. Understandable during the low season but not at the end of June, in my opinion. We probably wouldn%26#39;t go again, but wouldn%26#39;t blame Matthews for that, we just didn%26#39;t have a good time in the location. When the weather%26#39;s bad there%26#39;s nothing else to do!

I have just returned from a Mathews Holiday in Brittany. The booking was good, very friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately when we got there, the reception for Mathews Holiday was a manky old mobile home with weeds growing out of the roof and one man who showed you to your mobile home on his bike.

Next complaints the mobile home.

We had a focus mobile home, but it was so small.

The shower was a dribble %26amp; it was either too hot or too cold. You could not walk around the bed in the double bedroom, it was so small. The curtains were mouldy %26amp; paper thin.

In the kitchen there were no matches or anything for the gas stove, no chopping board, no tin opener or toaster.

Outside the grass was long, weeds growing up the steps. The washing line fell over everytime you put something on it and the parasol was leaning over. It was the laughing stock of the campsite.

We were embarrased to be in there.
