CDG to Classics Hotel Tour Eiffel - transport options?

Hello, I saw a post back in 2006 that explained the taxi and shuttle options to get from CDG to the Classics Hotel Tour Eiffel in 16e, but I thought I%26#39;d ask it in a different way:

Arriving at CDG on 24-Aug (Monday) at 10:40am. Trying to get to the Classics Hotel Tour Eiffel in 16e. 30s couple, first time in Paris, for 2 weeks.

1) Best way to get there?

2) Assuming not taking a taxi/shuttle (that is, using public transport), what passes would you recommend, factoring in the rest of the trip? (I think some museums are closed on Tuesday, so I had planned on using the passes starting Wednesday.)

3) Does it make sense to get a Navigo Decouverte for zones 1-3, since we%26#39;re arriving on Monday -- regardless of how we get to the hotel?

Merci en advance pour tout,

Robert

I%26#39;m surprised no one has reponded...

To use a Navigo Decouverte from/to CDG, you%26#39;d need to purchase Zones 1-5. And, since you aren%26#39;t returning within the seven days, Zones 1-2 and a separate ticket would be more economical.

If you want to economize getting to your hotel, Air France coach, then taxi, would be a lot more convenient than RER/Metro, unless you have little baggage and don%26#39;t mind lots of transfers with hallways and staircases.

For two people, a shuttle (if you can find one that%26#39;s 100% reliable) is not that much of a savings over a taxi. One advantage of the location of your hotel is it%26#39;s proximity to the Peripherique with no driving through busy Paris traffic areas...meaning a much more favorable taxi fare.

After an overnight flight, many find just heading for the taxi queue, being on your way, then dropped at your doorstep, to be worth every extra Euro.

Hi -

I%26#39;ll add one caveat - do not accept any offers of taxis or rides tendered within the terminal. Follow the taxi signs to the official taxi rank and ride only in an official Taxi Parisien. Even if the line seems long, you won%26#39;t have a very long wait as the starters work wonders getting folks into cabs quickly.

Thank you very much for replying. Our trip is this weekend, and I was leaning towards the RER, but after your advice we%26#39;ll take the Air France/taxi. Don%26#39;t want to start the trip off poorly, of course.

And thanks for the reminder about sticking with the queue. I made that mistake in New York on a business trip, and our accounting dept. didn%26#39;t reimburse me for that expense. My first time there too..
